Fixed Interest Rate
The Kina Secured Personal Loan has a fixed rate of 20% p.a. Our rates are fixed to make it easier for you to manage your monthly repayments.
Set Up Fee
Our set up fee is a fixed fee of PGK300. The amount is payable once the loan is approved.
Servicing Requirement
This is based on total debt commitment. It has to be 30% of your gross salary or less and if you’re self-employed, 30% of net cash flow or less.

What is a Kina Secured Personal Loan?
A Kina Secured Personal Loan acts as a form of credit that helps you make purchases that you don’t have the savings for. With a Kina personal loan, you receive a single payment from Kina Bank for the approved amount. The borrowed money then needs to be used to make the purchase that was detailed on your application. Once the funds are received, you will need to start making repayments either fortnightly or monthly.
How do I apply for a Kina Secured Personal Loan?
It’s easy. Simply visit your local Kina Bank branch and complete the Personal Loan Application form and submit it with 2 forms of primary ID. What are forms of primary ID?
When applying for a new account, you will need to have 2 forms of primary ID. We classify primary ID as:
- Passport (foreign passport must include a copy of your entry permit)
- Driver’s licence
- Employment ID card with employment confirmation letter
- Current student ID and confirmation letter from your tertiary provider
- Superannuation membership card
- PNG work permit with Labour & Industrial Relations letter
- PNG Government issued photographic Licence and or Permit
- National Identity card issued by NID office

What is the repayment structure of the Kina Secured Personal Loan?
The repayment structure is principal and interest. If you’re employed, the repayments will come directly from the account that your salary is paid into. If you’re self-employed, the repayments will be taken from your primary transaction account.
Do I need to be a Kina Bank customer to apply for a Kina Secured Personal Loan?
Yes. Repayments must be drawn from a Kina Bank account
Can I set up a redraw facility with my Kina Secured Personal Loan?
Yes, but advance payments can only be redrawn for payment of the annual insurance renewal premium, where applicable.
Are there monthly account fees when I take out a Kina Secured Personal Loan?
Yes, you will be charged PGK10 each month.
What is the minimum age requirement to apply for a Kina Secured Personal Loan?
You must be at least 18 years of age.
What loan amounts and terms do you offer with the Kina Secured Personal Loan?
The Kina Secured Personal Loan is set up to offer you the opportunity to borrow as little as PGK1,000 all the way through to PGK130,000. The minimum loan term is 6 months and the maximum loan term is 5 years.
Do I need to have a job to apply for the Kina Secured Personal Loan?
Yes. When you submit your application, you will need to show proof of employment. If you’re employed, you need to have a minimum of 6 months’ employment and if you’re self-employed you must have been working for a minimum of 2 years.
