No EFTPOS Fees

Our Kina Visa Credit Cards have zero fees when using Kina EFTPOS machines across PNG.

No Monthly Account Fees

An annual fee of PGK50 and PGK100 is applied to both the Kina Classic Visa and Kina Gold Visa Credit Card, respectively. There are no on-going monthly charges.

Set Up Balance

A once-off set up fee of PGK50 and PGK100 is applied to both the Kina Classic Visa Card and Kina Gold Visa Credit Card, respectively. This is a once-off payment when you apply for the card.

More Account Options

When you open your Kina Visa Credit Card, it has to be linked to a savings account or a fixed deposit account – it is set up this way for security. As part of having a Kina Visa Credit Card, you also automatically become eligible to open a Kina transaction account such as the Kina Everyday Account. Simply visit your local branch and apply with our friendly team.

What is the Kina Visa Credit Card?

A Kina Visa Credit Card provides you with a set line of credit that you can have instant access to each month. A Kina Visa Credit Card allows you to make purchases without cash, cheque or accessing your regular bank accounts. It also allows you to make online purchases and access the global Visa network. When using a Kina Visa Credit Card, you can make purchases and or cash advances within an approved limit. Purchases are accumulated onto your credit card account and a statement is generated every month.

Do I need to notify the bank before I travel overseas?

Yes, if you’re planning to travel outside of Papua New Guinea and intend to use your Kina Visa Credit Card you have to notify our team. It is really easy to do, simply phone us on +675 308 611 or on +675 7100 3735 and advise us of your travel plans. Please note your travel information needs to be registered at least 24 hours before your planned departure. If you’re unable to phone us, you can complete our Visa Travel Notice form and email it to: FraudPrevention@kinabank.com.pg. The Visa Travel Notice form needs to be sent at least 24 hours before your planned departure.

How do I open the Kina Visa Credit Card?

A Kina Visa Credit Card is set up the same way as a loan facility. To apply, you will need to complete our Kina Bank Credit Card Application and submit it to your local Kina Bank branch with 2 forms of valid ID. The application will be subject to our normal credit policy. As part of the application, you will need to provide a term deposit or a restricted account with an amount equivalent to the card limit – this is done for security purposes. Upon your application being processed and approved, you will receive your new card within 10 business days.

What are forms of primary ID?

When applying for a new account you will need to have 2 forms of primary ID. We classify primary ID as:

  • Passport (foreign passport must include a copy of your entry permit)
  • Driver’s licence
  • Employment ID card with employment confirmation letter
  • Current student ID and confirmation letter from your tertiary provider
  • Superannuation membership card
  • PNG work permit with Labour & Industrial Relations letter
  • PNG Government issued photographic Licence and or Permit
  • National Identity card issued by NID office

*All forms of ID must be valid. Any expired ID won’t meet the ID requirements and as such we won’t be able to accept the ID. If you don’t have 2 forms of Primary ID please call us on +675 308 3800 or 180 1525.

If I am an existing Kina Bank customer, am I eligible to get a Kina Visa Credit Card?

Yes. The application process is subject to our normal credit checks. In order to get a Kina Visa Credit Card, you must provide a term deposit or a restricted account with an amount equivalent to the card limit. To apply you simply need to visit your local Kina Bank branch.

How many Kina Visa Credit Cards do I receive?

When you apply for your Kina Visa Credit Card, you will receive 1 card but you’re able to link an additional 4 cards to the primary card. The additional card holder(s) must be a signatory to your credit account.

What type of account can I link my Kina Visa Credit Card to?

Your Kina Visa Credit Card needs to be linked to either a deposit account or a restricted savings account that holds the equal value of the monthly limit of the card.

Am I eligible to apply for a cheque book with my Kina Visa Credit Card?

No, you’re unable to apply for a cheque book with your Kina Visa Credit Card.
