Kina Bank is dedicated to supporting local communities through various community programs that focuses on education, health, water and sanitation, environmental protection, women’s empowerment among others.
Through Kina Bank’s Strongim Komuniti Grants (SKG) program, Tubusereia Primary School in Central Province recently received 17 desks and chairs for its lower primary students.
This program exclusively for Kina Bank staff supports small-scale projects that align with Kina Bank’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities.
Each quarter, staff members are encouraged to identify community needs and submit applications, which are reviewed for approval. In the third quarter, Senior International Operations Officer Susanna Guru successfully applied for desks and chairs for her community school.
Guru stated, “There aren’t enough desks for all the students. The donation will support the growth and development of our future leaders and I am pleased that such grant programs are available to assist our local communities”.
Kina Bank Manager International Operations, Joseph Baki while addressing the Teachers and students stated the team was pleased to also present stationeries from the International Operations team as part of their community initiative of giving back.
“At Kina Bank, we believe in the power of education and the importance of providing our young people with the tools they need to learn. By investing in our children’s education, we are investing in the future of our community and our nation”.
“We understand that quality education is the foundation for a brighter future, and we are committed to playing our part in making this a reality.”
“To the students, I encourage you to make the most of these resources. Study hard and know that you have a community that believes in you and your potential”, he said.
School Principal Kwara Kwara received the donation, in the presence of the school Board Chairman, teachers, students and parents.
“Thank you Kina Bank for the generous donation as the little money the school has cannot cater for the school’s needs”.
“Our school do not have enough desks and chairs to for the 937 students. Most of our students especially the lower primary school sit on the classroom floor”.
“These tools will empower our students to learn, grow and succeed”, he stated.
