The Payments and Digital Banking team at Kina Bank recently donated essential food items to support vulnerable families in the Hanuabada community, NCD. The donation included cartons of noodles, tinned protein, coffee, rice, sugar, and biscuits.
Mrs Gouwari George, Secretary and Treasurer of the Poreporena Lahara United Church, expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting its impact on their outreach efforts.
“Our Deacons identify individuals in the community who are in genuine need, those without any form of support or employment within their families. At the end of each month, we submit a list to the church, and financial assistance ranging from K50 to K100 is provided to those identified,” she said.
“We are pleased that these food items will help us continue our mission of caring for the less fortunate in our community,” she added.
The Poreporena Lahara United Church works in partnership with the Lakanitoi Memorial Church to provide ongoing support to the Hanuabada community.
Head of Payment & Digital Banking Support at Kina Bank, Gi’na Vari shared that the team’s key fundraising initiatives included monthly mufti days, where staff were encouraged to dress in themed attire. Those who did not participate by wearing the assigned attire contributed a higher penalty fee than those who did, with all proceeds directed toward the donation effort.
“This initiative is part of our corporate social responsibility. We saw a need in the village and decided to support the churches with food supplies to be distributed to those most in need,” he said.
The Payments and Digital Banking team joins other Kina Bank teams who go above and beyond to raise funds and support communities and organisations in need of support.
