KSi Daily Report: Wednesday, 26 April 2017

Due to technical issues, our daily KSi Market report was not sent out yesterday.
Wednesday’s POMSOX session saw one stock index advancing while another maintained. The Kina Securities main index closed at a record high of 5,132.81 points, up 4.11% or 202.85 points. Meanwhile, the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unmoved at 11,083.78 points.
Mining giant Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) edged higher by K4.00 to end at K50.00 at the close.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only other stock traded flat at K9.47.
A registered volume of 626 shares were transacted at a monetary value of K26,355.34
In overseas news, U.S share market extended its rally on the back of better-than-expected corporate earnings reports and the possibility of corporate tax cuts. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 9.00 points or 0.04% at 20,954.00 points. The Australian stock market closed higher after closing for Anzac Day with positive leads from Wall Street’s overnight trading with investors awaiting the release of first-quarter consumer price index. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 added 45.90 points or 0.78% to 5,917.70 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average closed at 19,289.43 points gaining 210.10 points or 1.10%, its highest since March 24.
