Thursday’s POMSOX trading session saw one stock index closing on the green amid thin trading. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 4.31 points or 0.08% to 5,205.69 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was maintained at 11,019.12 points.
Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) closed 4toea higher to end at K17.05.
Meanwhile, financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) were evened out at K9.50 and K1.80 flat respectively.
A total of 59,398 shares were transacted with a transactional value of K926,897.40.
In overseas markets, U.S stock benchmarks ended a volatile session mostly green with the Dow Industrials carving out fresh all-time highs as the DJIA rose 41.79 points or 0.2% at 22,412.59 points. Japan’s Nikkei rose boosted by gains on Wall Street and a weaker yen after the Feds signaled an expected rise in interest rates. The Nikkei was up 0.18% or 37.02 points to 20,347.48 points. The Australian stock market was notably lower following mixed cues overnight with mining stocks among the major decliners. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 slipped 44.60 points or 0.78% to 5,664.50 points.
