Thursday’s POMSOX trading session ended on a high note as both stock indices gained ground. The Kina Securities Main index KSi was up by a mere 2.33 points or 0.05% to 4,819.29 points. The Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 39.40 points or 0.37% to 10,724.34 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) added 4toea to edge higher at K9.05. Followed closely by Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) at K2.70, up by 10toea.
Meanwhile, Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) both evened out at K46.00 and K17.51 flat respectively.
The day’s session recorded a total of 7,312 shares worth K64,879.52.
U.S stocks ended higher as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 107.45 points or 0.52% edging higher to 20,611.86 points. In Asian markets, Japanese stocks retreated as a pause in the weakening of the yen as the Nikkei share average fell 90.45 points or 0.47% to close lower at 19,347.53 points. The Australian stock market opened higher following the positive lead from Wall Street, however drifted lower and slipped into negative territory on disappointing corporate earnings results. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark lost 13.10 points 0.23% 5,796.00 points.
