POMSOX trading on Thursday was unchanged for a second consecutive session. The Kina Securities Main index KSi was steady at 5,053.04 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unmoved at 10,694.79 points.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was the only stock traded for day. The stock recorded 120 shares worth K2,137.20.
U.S stock market indexes closed at a new round of records as the Dow Jones Industrial Average broke through the 21,000 barrier surging 303.31 points or 1.5% to close at a record 21,115.55 points. Japan’s Nikkei hit a 14 month high after Wall Street soared and the dollar gained on rising expectations of a U.S interest rate hike. The Nikkei share average was up 190.84 points or 0.98% to 19,584.38 points. The Australian stock market advanced after five days of losses tracking the record highs overnight on Wall Street. The gains were despite some major stocks turning ex-dividend as mining and banking stocks were among the leading gainers. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index rose 60.00 points or 1.05% to 5,764.80 points.
