KSi Daily Report: Monday, 17 July 2017
One stock index gained while another maintained on Monday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was up 1.75 points or 0.04% to 4,991.45 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 19.98 points or 0.18% to 11,156.28 points.
Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) gained 3toea to close higher at K1.78. Followed by energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which added a toea to end at K17.01.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only other stock traded flat at K9.60 at the close.
A volume of 1,967 shares were transacted amid thin trading, valued at K14,682.18.
U.S stocks closed at fresh records after large gains in the tech sector outweighed mixed corporate bank results and poor inflation and retail sales data. The Dow Jones Industrial average gained 84.65 points or 0.39% to 21,637.74 points. Japanese stock market was closed today in commemoration of marine day. The Australian stock market edged lower despite Friday’s gains as weakness among the major banks offset gains by mining and oil stocks. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index was down by 7.10 points or 0.12% to 5,758.00 points.
