The week opened on a high note as both stock indices closed on the green on Monday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi rose 4.12 points or 0.09% at 4,820.85 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi advanced 98.50 points or 0.92% to edge higher to 10,773.59 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) gained 9toea to close at K9.10. Followed by dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) also edged higher by a toea to end at K17.51.
Dual-listed energy stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) recorded an intraday high of K18.50 today and closed at K17.51, up a toea.
The day’s session recorded a volume of 15,478 shares valued at K221,380.30.
U.S stock market registered fresh records and posted a third straight weekly gain as the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 96.97 points or 0.5% to close higher at 20,269.37 points. Japanese stocks probed more than one-month highs cheered by Wall Street breaking records as the Nikkei Share Average was up 96.11 points or 0.50% at 19,475.04 points. The Australian stock market rose for a fifth straight day following gains on Wall Street amid optimism on corporate taxation reforms under Trump. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index rose 26.40 points or 0.46% to finish at 5,747.00 points.
