POMSoX trading was quiet ahead of the long Christmas weekend as both Kina Securities stock indices remained unchanged. The Kina Securities main index, the KSi stayed at 5,466.85 points. Meanwhile, the Kina Securities Home index, the KSHi was also flat at 10,917.38 points.
Friday’s session closed earlier at 1:00pm ahead of the festive holiday season with no trades registered.
In the overseas markets, US stocks rose overnight after the announcement of lower corporate taxes. The Dow Jones recorded an increase at 55.64 points or 0.23% to 24,782.29. In the Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei share average was flat as gains in commodities trading houses offset weakness as the Nikkei was flat at 22, 869.58 points as it gained 1.4%. The Australian stock market, shares were off early highs but held firm on the last trading day before Christmas as Australia’s benchmark share index S&P/ASX 200 saw an escalation by 17.30 points or 0.29% to 6,077.70 points.
