KSi Daily Update: Tuesday, 5 November 2013

Trading on POMSOX today was modestly active with the Kina Securities main Index, the KSi, giving up 6.28 points at 3,900.72. Meanwhile the Home Index or the KSHi also retreated, down 35.42 points or 0.43% to 8,184.62.

Three stocks that traded today remained unchanged while the fourth one traded on a loss.

Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock that traded on a loss of 1 toea, ending the day at K2.50.

The unchanged was led by junior cap miner, Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) at 20 toea, followed by Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which ended at K16.10 flat. Meanwhile, financial institution, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed at K8.01.

In the overseas markets, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged 23.57 points or 0.15% higher closing at 15,639.10 points, as most U. S. stocks traded in an uneventful fashion on Monday. The Japanese Nikkei also gained 23.80 points or 0.17% and finished at 14,225.40 points. Meanwhile, RBS of Australia maintained the record-low cash rate unchanged at 2.50% since August this year. The Australian benchmark S&P/ASX 200 closed 5,431.96 points, up 41.43 points or 0.77%.
