Kina Securities main stock Index, the KSi fell about 0.57% due to one heavily-weighted mining stock that retreated. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) lost 19 toea causing the main index down 19.85 points. Meanwhile, the Kina Securities Home Index, KSHi was unchanged at 9,745.93 points.
Four trades transacted registering two losses to nil gains.
The downfall came from mining stocks Oil Search Ltd (OSH) and Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC). The oil and gas stock was down by 19toea while junior mining explorer shed 1toea ending at K15.30 and 3toea respectively.
Stocks traded remaining unchanged were financials Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K7.43 and K2.50 evened out correspondingly.
Shares traded today were a total of 66,462 units worth K92,521.75.
U.S stocks steadily drifted higher for a fourth consecutive session of gains as investors took stock of disappointing June retail sales numbers . The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.42% or 75.90 points to 18,053.58 points. The Nikkei extended gains, a relief over Greece as Chinese economic data gave additional boost. The Japanese Nikkei share average gained 0.40% to 20,463.33 points, the highest since July 3. Likewise, Australian stock market advanced from the previous session ahead of Chinese data. S&P/ASX 200 rose 82.16 points or 0.40% to 20,467.49 points.
