The first day of March was rather quiet as both stock indices maintained on Wednesday’s POMSOX trading session. The Kina Securities main index KSi was steady at 5,0.14 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was unchanged at 10,694.79 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was unmoved at K9.02, registering a total of 370 shares worth K3,337.40.
In markets abroad, the Dow halted its record-setting streak as investors remained cautious ahead of Trump’s speech as the DJIA shed 25.20 points to close at 20,812.24 points. Japanese stocks recovered from intraday lows after Trump’s speech to Congress. The Nikkei share average was gained 274.55 points or 1.44% to end at 19,393.54 points. The Australian stock market declined for a fifth straight day following weak cues overnight from Wall Street and lower commodity prices. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index lost 15.00 points or 0.26% to 5,697.20 points.
