POMSOX trading session was quiet on Tuesday but both Kina Securities Indices extended gains. The main index KSi registered 2.76 points or 0.07% to 3,746.76 points while the home index KSHi collected 47.91 points or 0.59% to 8,143.09 points.
One out of three stocks transacted gained against to none that fell.
Financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the sole contributor to the positive movement of the indices as the stock recouped 9 toea, registering trades at K7.19.
Meanwhile pharmacy retail supermarket chain stock City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) and energy company Oil Search Ltd (OSH) stayed at K1.49 and K19.15 respectively.
Total shares recorded a combined volume of 12,814 units valued at K104,049.82.
In overnight trading, the U.S stocks retreated heavily ending its overnight session with moderate losses as worries about the slowdown Chinese growth weighed on the market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 107 points or 0.62% at 17,172.68 points. In Asia’s major stock market, Tokyo, the Nikkei Share average closed for a holiday today. Australian stock market slightly gained as investors marked down weakness of the mining sector. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index added 29.87 points or 0.12% to 5,416.90 points today.
