Tuesday’s POMSOX trading was quiet as only two stocks traded but stayed unchanged for the session. The Kina Securities Main Index KSI remained at 3,810.52 points while the Kina Securities Home index KSHi ended at 9,751.90 points.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) were the only stocks traded at K7.40 and K1.45 flat respectively.
A total of 3,468 units valued at K19,713.20 were traded today.
U.S stocks rallied on Monday, posting their biggest advance in three weeks, as China’s easing of reserve requirement after a rout in stocks on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 208.63 points or 1.17% to 18,034.93 points. Japanese stocks rose as hopes for strong corporate earnings, buoyed by major automakers and electronics manufactures. The Nikkei share average climbed 274.60 points or 1.40% to 19,909.09 points. Australian shares also closed higher on the latest Chinese stimulus measures and some prominent earnings that bested forecasts. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 rose 39.18 points or 0.67% to 5,872.30 points.
