Two stocks fell while none gained on POMSOX today.
New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO), heavy weight agricultural stock moved into negative territory giving away K1.45 to close at K26.50 while City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) declined 1toea at K1.39. the negative movements on both stocks weighed down on both indices at the close.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock that traded unmoved at K7.35.
Total shares traded today was 3,684 units at a share value of K80,390.79.
In off- shore news, US. stocks ended an overnight choppy session with modest losses as Wall Street assumed a jumpy stance, in the wake of disappointing trade data from China and Greek debt drama. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 17,729.21 points with a loss of 95.08 points by close with 26 of its 30 components closing lower. Japan’s Nikkei share average slipped 58.97 points or 0.33 % at 17,652.93 points today on the back of Greece’s rejection of its bailout terms. Likewise, The Australian share market was sold down for a second consecutive day, after a record of 12 days of rally as profit taking in the banks and reignited fears of Greek debt default sending the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index to 5,800.60 points down by 14.30 points or 0.25%.
