The POMSOX trading session was rather quiet on the first trading day of 2017 with both stock indices unchanged. The Kina Securities main index KSi was unmoved at 4,815.25 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index was steady at 10,628.45 points.
Bank South Pacific Unsecured Notes (BSPHA) gained K500.00 to close higher at K27,000.00.
Meanwhile, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was evened out at K9.00 flat at the close of market.
Total trades registered a volume of 684 shares valued at K60,138.00.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks dropped in overnight trading as the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost for the 15th day to gain, down 57.18 points or 0.29% to 19,763.00 points. Japanese stock exchange was closed today to observe New Year’s Day. The Australian stock market opened the first trading day at a seventeen-month high following the gains European markets. The Benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 added 50.40 points or 0.89% to 5,716.20 points.
