KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 25 September 2014

POMSoX stocks trading was modestly active today, as the Kina Securities main index edged lower to close in negative territory. The KSi was down 0.75 points (0.02%) at 3,746.32 points however, the Kina Securities Home Index or KSHi was remained unchanged at 8,148.42 points.

Thursday’s session registered a loss versus now that gained.

Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) declined by a toea to close at 8 toea.

Unmoved stock for the day included Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) that closed K7.20, and New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) finished at K17.50 flat. City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) both remained steady at K1.49 and K19.15 respectively. Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) completed at K2.60 even amid a thin trading volume.

BSP Unsecured Notes (BSPHA) also recorded a trade at K26,000.00 flat.

The day’s trading recorded a total of 14,551 shares with a monetary value of K22,120.63.
In markets abroad, U.S. stocks rallied in overnight trading, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average recording best one-day percentage gain in more than 5 weeks after a stronger-than-expected report on new-home sales. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 155.02 points, or 0.9%, to 17,210.89 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average rose after U.S. shares rebounded overnight on a strong economic indicator, while continuing yen weakness buoyed exporters. The Nikkei share average rose 193.59 points or 1.20% to 16,359.73 points at close of market today. Meanwhile, The Australian share market has lost some of its early gains but remains higher as the banking sector and two big miners gain ground despite pressure from a weak Australian dollar. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index completed Thursday’s session up 6.30 points, or 0.12% at 5,382.10 points.
