KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 17 April 2014

POMSoX trading was quiet ahead of the long Easter weekend and Kina Securities stock indices ended steady. The main index, the KSi stayed at 3,646.14 points and the Home index, the KSHi was flat at 8,158.39 points.

All three stock traded today ended flat.

Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) led trades at 13 toea, followed by Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) completed at K7.78 and K17.86 even respectively.

Thursday’s session registered a total of 50,424 shares at K25,299.87.

In overseas share, U.S. stocks rose on overnight trading, advancing for a third straight session as Federal Reserve reaffirmed the central bank to keep interest rates low. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 162.29 points, or 1%, to 16,424.85 points. Most Asian bourses were mixed and the Nikkei Average of Japan stands at 14,448.59, up 30.91 or 0.21% at this time of writing. In Australia, S&P/ASX200 gained 29.21 points or 0.55% to 5388.16 on the back of New York’s bound.
