KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 13 February 2014

POMSOX stocks recorded moderate trading activity on Thursday with Kina Securities main index, the KSi, turning weak, retreating 0.88 points or 0.02% to close at 3,866.29 points. However, The home index remained unchanged at 8,109.14 points.

Only one stock lost with no gains, accompanied by a debit stock.

Oil Search Ltd (OSH), the largest oil & gas company in PNG, ended on a negative note as it gave away 1toea to K17.52.

Meanwhile, stocks unmoved for the session were the two financial, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) at K7.95 even and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K2.60 flat amid better-than-average trading volume.

BSP Unsecured Notes (BSPHA) also traded closing K300.00 lower at K27,700.00 today.

Thursday’s trading registered a considerable volume of 219,484 units with a value of K581,880.52.

In New York, U.S stocks ended generally lower as investors paused after the largest four-consecutive session rally in a year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up opening gains, closing 30.83 points or 0.19% lower at 15,963.94 points. Asian stocks dropped after the regional benchmark indices climbed this week. Japan’s Nikkei slipped 265 points, or 1.79% ending at 14,535 points. The Australian share market edged lower as the dollar fell on weak jobs data. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 declined 1.95 points to 5,308.10 points.
