Tuesday’s POMSOX trading session saw one stock index gaining amid a moderate trading session. The Kina Securities Main index KSi rose 5.05 points or 0.10% to 4,815.25 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was maintained at 10,628.42 points.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was up by 5toea to end higher at K17.50.
Other stocks traded unchanged were Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) both evened out at K9.00 and K2.70 flat respectively.
The day’s trading transacted a total volume of 25,599 shares at a monetary value of K79,616.10.
In U.S markets, the Dow Jones closed less than 50 points of 20,000 after the Trump first news conference in months. The DJIA rose 98.75 points or 0.5% to close at 19,954.28 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average dropped to a near two-week low as Trump failed to provide clarity on future fiscal policies in a highly awaited press briefing. The Nikkei slumped 192.25 points or 0.99% to 19,172.42 points. The Australian market closed positively as an overnight rally in commodity prices dragged mining stocks higher. The S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index climbed 10.80 points or 0.19% to 5,771.50 points.
