KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 08 May 2014

Kina Securities Indices advanced slightly amid active trading on POMSoX Thursday. The main stock index, the KSi, added 0.41 points, 0.01% to 3,654.07 points. The Home Index, KSHi, inched 7.05 points (+0.09%) to 8,088.74 at the close.

One stock gained against one that fell.

The sole listed Pharmaceutical stock on POMSoX, City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) recouped 5 toea to close to K1.95.

Other stocks that traded unchanged for the day were led by the two financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K7.70 and K2.70 respectively. ) Another Financials Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) ended at K1.05. Meanwhile, Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) completed flat at 12 toea, followed by NGIP Agmark Ltd (NGP) at 80toea.

Thursday’s session recorded a combined volume of 62,871 shares valued at K117,706.29

The U.S stocks ended as global markets eyed developments in Ukraine amid high tensions. Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 117.52 points or 0.72 % to end at 16,518.54 points. Asian stocks got a lift on Thursday, recovering from the largest drop in seven weeks with unexpected climb in Chinese exports and imports. Japan’s Nikkei share average surged 130 points or (+0.93%) to 14,164 points. Likewise, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 advanced 41.03 points or 0.75% to 5,476.80 points, boosted by positive payrolls in Australia prompting an improving economic outlook.
