The day’s trading ended on the green amid an active trading session on Thursday. The Kina Securities Main index KSi was up 0.85 points or 0.02% to close at 4,813.83 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi rose 9.85 points or 0.09% to end at 10,635.11 points.
Two stocks gained compared to nil losses.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) added a toea, closing at K8.99 followed by Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) at K2.55, up 5toea.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was the only other stock trading flat at K17.50.
Today’s POMSOX session transacted a total of 93,579 shares at a monetary value of K596,791.00.
In U.S markets, stocks hit fresh records as equities continued their march upward after the last month’s vote for Trump. The DJIA finished 297.84 points higher or 1.55% to close at 19,550 points. Japan’s Nikkei rose fuelled by a further rise on Wall Street but a stronger yen kept gains in check. The Nikkei surged 251.30 points or 1.36% to 18,747.99 points. The Australian stock market rose following another session of record gains on Wall Street as banks and miners were among the leading gainers. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 advanced 56.00 points or 1.02% to 5,534.10 points.
