KSi Daily Report: Thursday, 07 May 2015

POMSoX trading was thin on Thursday, having registered a few trades only amid overseas weak stock performances. The Kina Securities main index, the KSi, was unchanged at 3,606.81 points and the Home index, the KSHi, was also flat at 9,770.36 points.

There were three stocks traded today without any change to their closing prices; Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) remained at K7.42, followed by Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) completing at K2.55 even. Meanwhile Oil Search Ltd (OSH) maintained at K16.50 flat.

Today’s trading recorded a very light volume of 975 shares at a value of K6,424.14.
In off-shore markets, U.S. stocks declined in overnight trading after Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen spooked investors by warning of potential pitfalls for investors, referring to stock values as quite high.. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 86.22 points or 0.48% lower at 17,841.98 point after dropping more than 170 points at session lows. Japan’s Nikkei share average 225 slumped 241.24 points or 1.24% to 19,291.99 points, a one-month low on Thursday after returning from a the Golden week holidays. Australian markets followed the regional weaknesses while major banks continued to weigh on the broader share market. By close of market Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 40.90 points, or 0.72% at 5,657.30 points.
