POMSOX opened the week of trading amid quite mood with both Kina Securities Indices remained unchanged. The Main index KSi was steady at 3,496.26 points while the Home index KSHi was even at 9,544.63 points.
Two stocks that traded today ended flat.
The leading financial stocks, Bank South Pacific Ltd and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) closed unchanged at K7.12 and K2.60 respectively.
Total shares transacted on Monday’s trading session were 1,798 units valued at K7,896.08.
In overseas, U.S. stocks closed roughly unchanged in 2015’s first day of trading last Friday, after giving back gains following disappointing reports on U.S. manufacturing and construction. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 9.92 points, or less than 0.1%, to end at 17,832.99 points. However, Japanese stocks began 2015 on a down note on Monday as investors showed little taste for risk given weak prospects for global growth. The Nikkei benchmark was down 20.05 points or 0.15% at 17,356.92. Meanwhile, The Australian share market has finished the second trading day of the year up slightly, as thin volumes due to many traders away from holidays despite lower crude oil start of the week. The S&P/ASX200 Index added 14.4 points, or 0.16%, to 5450.30 points.
