KSi Daily Report: Monday, 24 February 2014

The Kina Securities stock indices extended losses on Monday trading. The main index, the KSi finished at 3,614.24 points, down 0.92 points or 0.03%. Likewise, the home index, the KSHi shed 15.97 points or 0.44% to close low at 8,080.96 points,

The losses was attributable to the negative close by Bank South Pacific Limited (BSP). The stock gave away 3 toea to K7.90 after been traded at K7.80 in earlier session.

Other stocks that traded unchanged for the day included Oil Search Limited (OSH) and Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) as both miners finished at K17.53 and 15 toea respectively. Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) stayed flat at K2.60 flat followed by New Britain Palm Oil at (NBO) at K14.50 even.

Monday’s trade registered a mild volume 44,722 shares valued at K197.906.41.

U.S. stocks stepped lower Friday and finished mostly down for the week with the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing at 16,103.30 points down by 29.93 points or 0.3%. Japan’s Nikkei share average closed 27.99 lower or 0.19% at 14,837.68 points amid choppy trading on Monday as speculators jumped on a slight weakening in the yen to cover their short positions. ASX closed flat after a slower over concern about the strength of the Chinese economy as The S&P/ASX 200 moved up by 0.03% to 5,440.20 points today.
