KSi Daily Report: Monday, 2 June 2014

Kina Securities stock indices were unchanged as POMSOX ended trading on Monday. The Kina Securities main index remained at 3,706.39 points while the Home Index or KSHi stayed flat at 8,082.74 points.

Both stocks that were traded remained steady.

Portfolio management company Kina Asset Management (KAM) completed at K1.07 and PNG’s leading financial institution Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed at K7.70 today.

Total units traded were 29,911 at a share value of K91,084.70.

U.S stocks ended mostly higher on Friday following the release of some economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 18.43 points (+0.11%) to 16,717.17 points. Asian stocks rose with the regional benchmark index heading towards a six-month high as China data boosts copper. The Japanese Nikkei share average gained 290 points or 1.99% to end at 14,923 points. Australian share market was boosted by better than expected Chinese manufacturing data, as the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 advanced 27.25 points or 0.50% to 5,519.80 points.
