KSi Daily Report: Monday, 18 July 2016

Monday’s POMSOX trading session was active as both Kina Securities stock indices gained. The Kina Securities stock index KSi was up 1.30 points or 0.03% to 4,631.46 points. Similarly, the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi gained 41.38 points or 0.42% to 9,808.33 points.

One stock lost compared to another that gained on today’s session.

Banking and financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) gained 5toea to K8.25.

On the downside, City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) closed 3toea lower to end at K1.15.

Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the only stock unmoved for the day at K1.68.

Total shares recorded today were 24,880 units valued at K147,741.70.

U.S stocks set records for the first time in nearly 14 months this week as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 31 points or 0.17% to 18,448 points. Japan’s Nikkei posted its biggest weekly gain in 6-1/2 years after a fifth straight winning session on Friday, lifted by Wall Street’s record run and sagging yen. The Nikkei share average rose 160.00 points or 0.98% to 16,560.00 points. The Australian share market’s strong run continued, led by energy, retail and banking companies. Despite mixed performances by major international equity markets on Friday, the local benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was up 15.8 points at 5,445.40 points.
