Monday’s POMSOX trading session opened the week on a rather quiet but active note as both Kina Securities Stock indices closed on positive grounds. The Kina Securities main index, KSi was up 1.75 points or 0.04% to 4,711.41 points. The Kina Securities Home Index KSHi gained 19.99 points or 0.20% at 10,054.59 points.
One out of two stocks that traded today gained.
Financial stock Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was the winning stock for the day, up by 3toea to close high at K1.68.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) ended unchanged, maintaining at K8.50 at the close.
The day’s trading recorded a total of 400,247 shares valued at K662,099.50.
In off-shore markets, U.S stocks pared most of the losses to finish slightly lower on Friday, limiting the main benchmarks’ weekly gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 37.05 points or 0.2% to 18,576.47 points. Japan’s Nikkei share index slipped as the yen stayed strong and data showed economic growth stalled in the second quarter, souring investor sentiment. The Nikkei dropped 50.36 points or 0.30% to 16,869.56 points. The Australian share market recovered early losses to sit slightly as the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 dipped sharply but gained 9.7 points or 0.18% at 5,540.60 points.
