Both Kina Securities stock indices closed flat for Monday’s POMSOX trading session as there were no trades registered for the day. The main index KSi was unchanged at 4,036.62 points and likewise the home index KSHi was also steady at 9,187.21 points.
U.S stocks pared gains but still ended higher after crude oil prices soared. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 35 points or 0.20% to 17,576.96 points. Japan’s Nikkei edged down as the yen climbed to a fresh 17-month high against the dollar, dragging down export-focused companies while trading volume was thin as investors stayed risk-averse. The Nikkei share average declined 70.39 points or 0.44% at 15,751.13 points. The Australian share market closed slightly lower as the financial sector weighed on the local bourse. At the close, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 was down 6.12 points or 0.12% at 4,931.50 points.
