KSi Daily Report: Monday, 09 November 2015

POMSOX trading was average on Monday with both Kina Securities Indices remaining unchanged. The main index, the KSI was steady at 3,621.26 points and likewise the home Index or KSHi stayed at 9,655.42 points.

Only three stocks traded but all ended flat today.

Banking and financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) remained at K7.44 and K2.60 respectively. Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) traded but finished at K2.60. In ASX, the dual-listed stock crossed at $1.22, down 3c with a thin volume of 1,000 units.

POMSoX registered a small volume of 27,540 shares exchanged hands valued at K75,017.52.

U.S stocks finished mixed on Friday, as investors considered the implications of a stronger –than-expected jobs report. The Dow Average collected 46.90points or 0.26% to close at 17,910.330 points.. In Tokyo, the Nikkei Average gained 377.14 points or 1.96% higher to 19,642.74 on weaker Yen after Friday’s strong U.S jobs report. Australian shares closed broadly lower, with slump in commodity prices and a falling Aussie dollar mainly caused by BHP’s mine disaster in Brazil last Friday. BHP fell $1.28 or 5.64% to $21.42 today. The benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 declined 95.50 points or 1.83 to 5,119.50 points.
