Monday’s POMSOX trading session closed edged higher amid a quiet session. The Kina Securities main index KSi rose 50.94 points or 1.07% to 4,794.63 points while the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was down 3.89 points or 0.04% to 10,635.11 points.
Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) closed higher ending up by K1.00 to close at K46.00.
Meanwhile, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was evened out at K9.00 flat.
The day’s trading transacted a total of 10,019 shares valued at K91,855.00.
U.S markets ended lower for the ninth straight session, its longest losing streak as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 42.39 points or 0.24% to 17,888.28 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average rose, buoyed by a recovery in global risk appetite after a weaker yen as the benchmark Nikkei edged up 271.85 points or 1.61% to 17,177.21 points. The Australian stock market closed higher for the first time in five days as local stocks traded consistently higher to finish at intraday highs with the four big banks and mining heavyweights leading and positive results experienced across sectors. S&P/ASX 200 surged 70.00 points or 1.35% to 5,250.80 points.
