POMSOX trading was moderate on Monday as Kina Securities Indices remained steady. The Home index KSHi stayed unchanged, while the main index KSi added 2.18 points or 0.06% to 3,480.40 points.
One out of four stocks traded today gained against none that fell.
Dual-listed stock Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) gained grounds for the third consecutive session. The stock collected 20toea closing higher at K2.80. In ASX, it closed at K1.42, up 7c.
Other stocks traded included Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP), ended flat at K7.40. Mining stocks Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) unchanged at 2toea and K15.00 respectively.
Total shares transacted today were 153,439 units worth K44,797.16.
In overseas, U.S stocks fell on Friday trading as the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 56.12 points or 0.32% to 17,689.86 points. Likewise, Japanese stocks fell today, snapping a three-day winning streak as a barrage of earnings reports failed to dispel growing concerns over a slowdown in China’s economy. The Nikkei share average declined as much as 0.18% or 37.13 points to 20,548.11 points. Australian shares closed lower as well, ahead of a Reserve Bank rates decision and key employment data. At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was 25.96 points or 0.46% lower to 5,673.20 points today.
