KSi Daily Report: Friday, 6 May 2016

Friday’s POMSOX trading ended on a rather quiet session with both Kina Securities stock indices remaining unmoved. The Kina Securities main index or KSi was maintained at 4,153.07 points similarly the Kina Securities Home index, KSHi remained at 9,112.94 points.

Leading banking and finance stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded with a mere volume of 747 units with a value of K 5,602.50.

U.S. stocks closed little changed in overnight trading as weak economic data and disappointing earnings weighed against a rise in oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 9 points to close at 17,660.71 points. Japanese stocks fell on resumption of trading on Friday after a three-day holiday closure as an air of caution prevailed ahead of a key U.S. jobs report, while investors also worried about the impact of a strong yen on corporate profits. Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average 40.66 points or fell 0.25% at 16,107.21 points. In Australia, The share market has recovered from its early sharp fall as mining and bank stocks firmed. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 10.4 points, or 0.2% at 5268.7 points
