Both Kina Securities stock indices gained territories to conclude high for Friday’s POMSoX session. The main index, the KSi collected 0.92 points, or 0.02% to complete at 3,919.47 points, while the Kina Securities home index or the KSHi recovered 15.97 points, or 0.19%, to finish at 8,227.23 points.

One gain was registered on POMSoX against no loss.

Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) recovered 3 toea K8.03 amid thin trading volume. The positive movement helped lift the indices closing in green.

Meanwhile, Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) maintained at K2.60 flat and New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) was unchanged at K15.00.

Today’s trading session recorded a light volume of 5,223 units at a value of K29,528.08.

U.S stocks continued to decline as a result of the U.S spending impasse impact with little sign of progress by the Congress toward a solution. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 136.66 points or 0.90% closing at 14,996.50 points lower. Asian stocks plunged with the regional indices heading for a week of loss. The Nikkei slipped 132.94 points (-0.94%) ending at 14,024.30 points. Australian S&P/ASX 200 also dropped, down 26.89 points or 0.51% today at 5,208.00 points as ongoing US government shutdown continued to loom over investor confidence.
