POMSoX session closed month of January unchanged on Friday with above-average trading volume. The main index or KSi stayed at 3,872.99 points while the home index or the KSHi ended steady at 8,210.38 points.
All four stocks that traded ended flat.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BCP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) took the lead in terms of trading volume remained steady at K7.98 and K2.60 respectively. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was traded even at K17.53, followed by a junior cap miner, Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) which completed at 15 toea flat with substantial volume.
Friday’s session recorded a considerable volume of 115,979 shares worth K97,892.23.
In overseas, U.S. stocks rebounded overnight as investors welcomed data showing improved growth in the economy in the final quarter of last year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 109.82 points or 0.70% at 15,848.61 points. But Tokyo stocks extended losses to a fresh two-and-a-half month low Friday on the U.S. Federal Reserve’s scale-back to its bond-buying program. The Nikkei Stock Average fell 95.53 or 2.5% to 15,007.06. THE S&P/ASX 200 was flat at 5190.00, down 1.94?points despite positive leads from Wall Street, weakened by mining and banking stocks.
