Both Kina Securities indices remained flat on POMSoX on the last trading day of the week as the main index, the KSi, stayed at 3,897.45 points. Likewise, the Kina Securities Home index or the KSHi ended even at 8,185.75 points.
Four stocks traded however, all remained steady at the close.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) the largest commercial bank in PNG maintained at K8.02 while heavy-weighted miner, Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) closed at K33.00 on thin trade. Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) was steady at K2.50 and City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) the sole listed pharmaceutical stock maintained its strong hold at K1.90.
Friday’s trading session recorded a moderate volume of 74,013 shares at a value of K377,113.50.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks improved overnight with the Dow Jones Industrial Average advancing 95.88 points, 0.62% closing the day at 15,509.20 points after close to 200 companies releasing their financial results in a single day. The Japanese Nikkei declined 398.22 or 2.75% closing at 14,088.22 points as stronger yen depressed Japanese stocks. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 13.46 points, 0.25% ending at 5,386.35 points following gains on U. S. markets overnight.
