KSi Daily Report: Friday, 24 July 2015

POMSoX suffered losses on Friday as one out of four stocks that traded fell during the session. The Kina Securities Stock Index or the KSi eased 0.17 points to 3,458.52 points and the Home index, or the KSHi fell 5.33 points (-0.05%) at 9,730.83 points.

City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL), the sole listed pharmaceutical stock moved into negative territory giving away 2toea to close at K1.44. The negative movement weighted down on both indices at the close after four consecutive sessions of flat trading..

Oil Search Ltd (OSH) stayed at K15.00 flat followed by Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both steady at K7.42 and K2.50 respectively.

The Friday’s session registered a combined volume of 47,919 shares at a value of K244,321.28.

In New York, The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 119.09 points (-0.67%), to 17,731.92 points in overnight trading, turning negative for the year, led lower by utilities, materials and industrial stocks. Japanese shares fell on Friday, dragged down by an economic survey that showed weak manufacturing activity in China. The Nikkei Share Average ended 139.42 points (-0.67%) 20,544.53. Likewise, The Australian share market has closed lower for a third straight day, following a weak lead from Wall Street and pessimistic manufacturing data from China. At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 24.50 points (- 0.44%) lower at 5,566.80 points.
