KSi Daily Report: Friday, 20 May 2016

Friday’s POMSOX session ended on the green as both Kina Securities stock indices closed higher. The Kina Securities main index, KSi added 4.66 points or 0.11% to 4,311.38 points. The Kina Securities Home Index or KSHi gained 147.76 points 1.63% to 9,200.74 points.

Leading financial stock in terms of market capitalization in PNG, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded today. The stock closed 15toea to end higher at K7.65.

The day’s trading registered a total of 6,175 shares valued at K47,238.75.

In markets abroad, US stocks declined in overnight trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 91.22 points or 0.52% to 17,435.40 points. Japan’s Nikkei was mostly flat on Friday as investors stayed on the sidelines ahead of Group of Seven meetings. The Nikkei share average flat at 27.96 points or 0.53% to 5,351.30 points. The Australian share market closed flat following a weak overnight performance in the US and Europe. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was up 27.96 points or 0.53% 5,351.30 points.
