KSi Daily Report: Friday, 20 February 2015

Kina Securities stock indices ended the week on a quiet note as both indices remained unchanged. The Kina Securities main index KSi was steady at 3,594.57 points and likewise the Kina Securities home index remained at 9,639.42 points.

Three stocks traded unchanged on today’s trading session.

Financial stocks Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both ended flat at K7.15 and K2.60 respectively. Meanwhile Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) closed at K24.00. Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was unmoved at K17.00.

Friday’s trading registered a total trading volume of 21,546 units at a share value of K64,174.50.

In New York, U.S stocks pared early losses to close mixed in overnight trading as the impasse in Greece and U.S earnings remained in focus. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 44.08 points or 0.24% to 17,985.77 points.
Australian shares fell for a second straight session on Friday, nearly wiping out the week’s gains as lower commodity prices and corporate earnings continued to disappoint. The S&P/ASX 200 was down 22.73 points or 0.38% to 5,881.50 points today. Japanese stocks rose to a fresh 15-year high with the dollar boosted by upbeat U.S data. The Nikkei share average rose 54.96 points or 0.30% to 18,319.75 points.
