Friday’s session on POMSOX was quiet as the main index declined amid light trading. The Kina Securities Main index, KSi was down 0.54 points or 0.01% to 4,306.72 points while the Kina Securities Home Index or KSHi was maintained at 9,052.98 points.
One out of three stocks that traded today fell compared to nil gains.
Dual-listed financial stock Kina Securities Ltd declined by 5toea to close at K2.25.
Meanwhile Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) were both unmoved at K17.00 flat respectively.
Today’s session registered a total of 2,238 shares valued at K15,280.50.
The Dow barely eked out a gain as a slump in technology shares, highlighted by a steep slide in Apple pressured the market, dragging the S&P 500 .. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 9.38 points or 0.05% to 17,720.50 points. Japanese stocks slumped in choppy trade, the first drop in five days as Apple’s suppliers underperformed on persistent worries about slowing demand for iPhones. The Nikkei share average shed 166.41 points or 1.00% to 16,479.93 points. The Australian share market was flat after a mixed overnight session in the United States. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was down 30.30 points or 0.57% to 5,329.00 points.
