KSi Daily Report: Friday, 26 February 2016

Friday’s POMSOX trading session was quiet as both Kina Securities stock indices remained unchanged. The Kina Securities main index KSi was steady at 3,343.94 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index or the KSHi was maintained at 9,126.81 points.

Leading banking and financial stock in terms of market capitalization Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was the only stock traded today. A total of 1,487 shares were transacted, valued at K11,152.50.

U.S stocks closed with solid gains in overnight trading as a rebound in oil prices boosted the main benchmarks, which had been struggling to hold on to small gains throughout the session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 212.30 points or 1.29% higher at 16,697.29 points. Japan’s Nikkei soared to a 2 ½ week high on Friday after risk recovered on Wall Street’s gains and the weak yen. The Nikkei share average climbed 124.26 points or 0.77% to 16,265.26 points. The Australian share market was lower as investors remain uncertain amid volatile markets after stocks slid in China but rose on Wall Street overnight. S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index fell 1.18 points or 0.02% to 4,880.00 points.
